Hot foiling, also known as hot stamping or foil stamping, is a process that involves applying a metallic or pigmented foil to a surface using heat and pressure. This process is often used to add an elegant, eye-catching finish to products, such as business cards, book covers, and, in our case, cocktail coasters.
The hot foiling process begins with a metal die, which is created based on the design that is to be foiled. The die is heated and pressed onto a roll of metallic or pigmented foil, causing the foil to adhere to the surface of the die. The die is then pressed onto the surface of the coaster, transferring the foil to the surface of the coaster through a combination of heat and pressure.
